November 1, 2025

21 players started the live game. The action was so strong that we actually had a person bust out twice in the first blind level. I don't think we've ever had that before.

After that the play calmed down a little and nearly everyone made it to the first break. There was a steady loss of players and we combined to one table just before the third break.

Peter made the final table was trying to regain his overall lead, but he fell out before the bonus points. Jerry was trying to extend his lead and managed to outlast Peter, but also didn't make it to the bonus points. Those were claimed by David who had a nice run, but couldn't break into the podium.

After a long three-way battle Kathy Cr took out Tony in third place. That left Jon & Kathy Cr trying for the win. The lead went back and forth, but at the end, it swung Jon's way and he took the win.

This places 4 people within 10 points of the top. Jerry still leads, but only by 2 points over both Peter and Jon. Kathy Cr's 2nd place put's her in 4 the place, but only 10 points out of the lead. Tony rounds out the top 5. Here's the top 5 list:

  1. Jerry - 340 points
  2. Peter - 338 points
  3. Jon - 338 points
  4. Kathy Cr - 330 points
  5. Tony - 265 points

With only 1 game left in the year, it's still anyone's championship. You don't want to miss this one.

21 players for the live game tonight! This included a newcomer. Welcome Bill! The big hands started early with quads, full houses and flushes making multiple appearances.

Everyone made it to the first break (when all the goodies are served). Then, they went down to two tables until the third break.

Ten players started on the final table after the third break (including Bill). With mounting blinds, luck played a significant part in who doubled up and who went home.

Tony (last year's champion and last month's winner) was looking to repeat this month. But, the poker gods failed to smile on him and he had to settle for 4th place and the bonus points.

It was the Baileys against Jerry for the final three spot. Jerry managed to outlast Jon, but Sophie turned two pair to bust his pocket queens and take the win.

Another great game with lots of fun!

Jerry's second place finish puts him 2 points ahead of Peter and makes him the new leader. Kathy Cr. is third and Mehmet is 4th.

Here's the top 5:

  1. Jerry - 330 points
  2. Peter - 328 points
  3. Kathy Cr - 257 points
  4. Mehmet - 247 points
  5. David - 226 points

Tentative dates for this year: 11/1, 12/6

A lot can happen in these last two months - you don't want to miss it!

First, Jon & Sophie are hosting another hybrid poker tournament. These are always a lot of fun and I hope you'll reserve your spot today! Play starts @ 1:00 PM and ends around 8:30. Dinner is provided!

A light turnout with only 16 players this month. But, what we lacked in numbers, we made up for with action.

The tables could not have been more different. One table had 4 re-entries before the other table even had one.

Still, the field was whittled down until they made the final table just after the second break.

Only 5 players made it to the 3rd break and the end of the re-entry period.

Rod thought this was going to be his night, but the cards had other ideas and he went out in 5th.

Jon worked a short stack up until he was almost a contender - then he busted out.

It was Peter's turn to bust. Even though his play was solid - Tony and Yigit were just luckier than he was and he had to settle for third.

The heads-up match didn't last very long. Tony was able to take the win for the first time this year.

Well done!

Peter's third place was more than enough to keep him in first place overall. With only 3 games left - this could be an exciting end!

Here's the top 5:

  1. Peter - 318 points
  2. Jerry - 257 points
  3. Kathy Cr - 247 points
  4. Mehmet - 237 points
  5. David - 216 points

Tentative dates for this year: 10/11, 11/1, 12/6

August 2025

There were 18 players for the August live game tonight. As usual, everyone made it to the first break.

Big stacks became small stacks and were then eliminated. Jim seemed to take a big lead when he busted out two players to bring the table down to 5.

The final 4 were determined when Bob busted out. It was Rod finishing in 4th place and taking the bonus points.

With nearly equal stacks and it still being somewhat early in the blind structure, it looked like it could be a long night. Mehmet was the first to succumb to the attrition finishing in third place.

It looked like a pretty even match between Jim and Peter. One would get a little behind, but then win a big pot to take the lead. It ended when Jim hit the top flush and Peter rivered a full house to take the win!

With that win, Peter jumps to first overall. Kathy Cr and Jerry are tied for second. Mehmet is in 4th and David holds 5th. Still a lot of action coming this year.

Here's the top 5:

  1. Peter - 260 points
  2. Kathy Cr - 247 points
  3. Jerry - 247 points
  4. Mehmet - 237 points
  5. David - 206 points

Tentative dates for this year: 9/6, 10/11, 11/1, 12/6

July 2025

Having 21 players for the July live game really brought out the competition. Everyone made it through the first round of blinds and nearly everyone made it through the second.

It was the third round that took it's toll. Still it was after the third break before they were down to a single table.

Then things went fast. With blinds at 2/4/4 and 4/8/8 it seemed like someone went out every orbit.

Kathy made it to the 6th spot before she fell. Mehmet went out in 5th (I had incorrectly put him in 4th earlier) and Jon finished in 4th to garner the extra points.

Jerry's pocket queens we busted by Ben's AK. Relinquishing him to third place.

The heads-up match between Ben and Yigit lasted past the 4th break. At the end it was Ben with the best hand when it counted and he took the win!

This moves Jerry into a tie with Kathy Cr (Kathy is still in first since she wins the tie- break). David is in third. Mehmet has 4th and Ben has moved up into 5th.

Here's the top 5:

  1. Kathy Cr - 237 points
  2. Jerry - 237 points
  3. David - 196 points
  4. Mehmet - 191 points
  5. Ben - 165 points

Still a lot of games to play and anything can happen. Hope to see you in August.

Tentative dates for this year: 8/2, 9/6, 10/11, 11/1, 12/6

June 2025

20 players attended tonight's live game. Everyone again made it to the first break and our excellent pot-luck.

By the second break a number of players had fallen. The final table was formed just before the third break.

At this point the blinds were brutal and people started falling out left and right.

Jerry couldn't hold on and went out in 5th place. Barb was next and had to settle for 4th place and the bonus points.

Ben came back after nearly a year of absence and managed to take third. It was Kathy cr. and James fighting for the win.

James spiked the win for his first podium finish and Kathy cr had to settle for second. Her second place let her regain the lead (and put a little distance between her and 2nd place) David K is in second with Jerry just 1 point behind.

Well Done!

Here's the top 5:

  1. Kathy Cr - 227 points
  2. David - 186 points
  3. Jerry - 185 points
  4. Mehmet - 181 points
  5. Peter - 160 points

We still have 1/2 the season to play and I'm sure there will be a LOT more excitement. Hope to see you soon!

Jon & Sophie are hosting the Hybrid Tournament again on the 21st. Play starts @ 1:00 PM with possible cash game after. Dinner will be provided and a late entry is possible. Ask Jon or me for further information.

Tentative dates for this year: 7/12, 8/2, 9/6, 10/11, 11/1, 12/6

May 2025

17 players showed up for the live game tonight. Including 1 new player (Welcome Jill). One table was very lively with several bust-outs in the first set of blinds. The other table only had 1.

Things were a little calmer in the second set of blinds (probably thanks to a great buffet 🙂 )

They were down to the final table by the start of the third set of blinds. Seven players made it to the end of the re-entry period.

The next two players went out in the first few hands of the 4th set of blinds. They went for a while before Jill fell out in 5th place (not bad for her first night with us).

Jerry went out in 4th scoring the bonus points. Barb took third and it was David K and Mehmet battling for the win. It looked like Mehmet might take back-to-back wins, but it was not to be.

David had the bigger stack and pressed his advantage for the win.

Well Done!

With that Mehmet took first place.

Here's the top 5:

  1. Mehmet - 181 points
  2. David - 176 points
  3. Jerry - 175 points
  4. Kathy Cr - 157 points
  5. Peter - 150 points

Six points separate the top 3 and first place last month fell to 5th this month. There is a LOT of activity in the top 5 - Maybe this month it'll be you there!

Note: Jon and Sophie are hosting a Hybrid Tournament game on May 17th Starts @ 1PM till 8:30 PM with a possible cash game after. Dinner is provided - ask Jon or me for more information. Always a lot of fun.

Tentative dates for this year: 6/7, 7/12, 8/2, 9/6, 10/11, 11/1, 12/6

April 2025

We had 16 players for tonight's live game. There were a surprising number of all-ins early, but no eliminations.

Then things settled down after the first break. So, the final table wasn't set until nearly the third break.

Then the blinds really drove the action with two and three way all-ins practically every hand.

Jim took out Jerry and Patti it down to 5 players. Kathy was the next to fall in 5th. But, Jim didn't last that much longer as he went out in 4th place and collected the bonus points.

Bobbie then took out Tony to collect the bounty and Tony scored his first podium finish of the year.

Mehmet and Bobbie battled heads-up with both being cautious and waiting for good hands. When the chips all went in, it was Mehmet who managed to come out on top and he took his first podium place with a win. Bobbie had to settle for 2nd after a pretty lucky night.

Kathy Cr has missed the last two games. This let Peter and Jerry pass her for first and second respectively. Zahit is now in 4th and Mehmet takes over 5th position.

  1. Peter - 150 points
  2. Jerry - 148 points
  3. Kathy Cr - 147 points
  4. Zahit - 125 points
  5. Mehmet - 120 points

Only 3 points separate the top 3 players. It's just that close.

Tentative dates for this year: 5/3, 6/7, 7/12, 8/2, 9/6, 10/4, 11/1, 12/6

March 2025

17 players attended the March live game. And they all brought their 'A' games!

No one busted out before the first break. And most players made it to the second break.

After that, players dropped like flies. They formed the final table about mid-way through the 3rd set of blinds. 2 players went out pretty quickly, then it was 8-handed almost to the 3rd break. There were a lot of all-ins, but they either chopped the pot or the smaller stack won.

Just before the break, 4 players were eliminated in about 5 hands (2 players went out in the same hand).

Jim was the first out of the four. He had to settle for the bonus points. Bob was next in third place. David and Zahit took a short break and came back to finish it. Zahit had almost twice as many chips as David. That made the difference as David could win hands, but never really got the larger stack. Eventually, Zahit's chip advantage gave him the win.

Good game all!

Zahit's win pushes him up into 4rd place, with Kitte dropping back to 5th.

  1. Kathy Cr - 157 points
  2. Peter - 140 points
  3. Jerry - 138 points
  4. Zahit - 115 points
  5. Kittie - 83 points

Tentative dates for this year: 4/5, 5/3, 6/7, 7/12, 8/2, 9/6, 10/4, 11/1, 12/6

February 2025

22 players made it to the February game. Everyone made it to the first break. We combined into 2 tables (20 players) right at the second break.

The final table was set just before the 3rd break.

With 9 players left, Kathy Cr, Jerry and Jon were the big stacks. Peter made a move while James and Bob fell out. The final 4 consisted of Kathy Cr, Jon, Jerry and Peter.

Kathy was the first out in 4th. Jon was next giving his chips to Peter. Jerry and Peter played a couple of hands heads-up until Peter limped with pocket kings. He snap called when Jerry shoved his Ace-Queen. He improved to a set of kings and took the win!

That moved Peter to second place. Kathy Cr is still in first and Jerry has now moved to third.

Here's the top 5:

  1. Kathy Cr - 147 points
  2. Peter - 130 points
  3. Jerry - 128 points
  4. Kittie - 83 points
  5. Jon - 64 points

Tentative dates for this year: 3/1, 4/5, 5/3, 6/7, 7/12, 8/2, 9/6, 10/4, 11/1, 12/6

January 2025

Thought we were going to have a record number of players tonight, but several people dropped out at the last minute. Still 21 players is nothing to sneeze at.

Neither is more than 2 hours of good poker - which is what nearly everyone got before the blinds started causing bust-outs.

We lost one player and combined to form two tables right at the first break. The hit the final table just before the third break.

Then the blinds started getting crazy and people were dropping like flies. Ed came into the final table as a chip leader, but that quickly dwindled. Kittie (new player - welcome) managed to build her stack as everyone else was losing theirs.

Eventually, it was Kathy, the other Kathy, Kittie, and Jerry taking the top 4 spots.

Kathy was the first out - having to settle for the bonus points. Jerry shoved pocket twos into AK and the held up - until the river. This relegated him to third place.

Then it was Kittie and Kathy Cr. heads-up for the win. They were pretty evenly matched and the blinds were so high that it was all in or fold.

There were a couple of all-ins and chops. Then it was Kathy's turn to get lucky and she won the flip for the win!

Well done. Tony wasn't there tonight, so we got a heads-start and a new overall leader (for a while anyway).

Here are the current standings:

  1. Kathy Cr - 115 points
  2. Kittie - 73 points
  3. Jerry - 52 points
  4. Kathy - 31 points
  5. Everyone else who attended - 10 points

Finally - don't forget to sign up for the WSOP challenge if you are interested. It's $60 for the year and can be paid anytime. We have a good group already, but there's always room for more. If we get enough - we can send 3 players.
