We had 16 players for the November live game.
Jon managed to pull in the bonus points for fourth place. Bob took second. Thanks to hitting quads twice, Jerry made it to a heads-up battle with Zahit. Jerry won it when he called Zahit’s all-in and his better kicker held up.
Kathy has cemented the 2017 championship and one of the $365 WSOP Circuit event entries. The battle is now for second:
Sophie is also in the mix for 2nd with 250 points. Any one of them could take it. Come see who does!
We had 14 players for tonight's live game. A lot of good play and some really good hands (including a straight flush and quad aces).
Jerry managed to make it to fourth place (probably because Bob wasn't here). Marv went out in 3rd. Kathy and Tony went heads-up for nearly 15 minutes before Tony managed to take the win.
Here’s the top five:
Kathy's second place pretty much gives her the championship for this year. Barb is the only one who can catch her, and she'd have to win the last two months. It could happen, but it's probably a race for second place.
There were only twelve players in tonight's live game. As usual, everyone made it to the second break. Then it quickly went down to 6 and stayed there for quite a while. Barb got short, then rebuilt her stack. Bob was poised for another 4th place when he also started to run up his stack.
Kathy continued her string of top finishes with a 4th place. David K. took third place which left Bob heads-up with Barb. Barb wasn't able to make it three wins in a row and she had to settle for second when Bob took first.
Here’s the top five:
Barb has gained over 200 points in the last 3 games. Maybe Kathy has some competition!?
We had 16 players for this month’s live game. Nearly everyone made it to the second break. After that people fell out quickly and soon they were down to 6. With 6 players the chips kept moving around the table, but no one busted out for nearly an hour. But, eventually, they did bust out.
Bob went out in his traditional 4th place (4 times this year!). Marv held on for 3rd. The Kathy and Barb went heads-up for nearly 30 minutes. Barb ended up on top and Kathy had to settle for second.
The top 5 now looks like this:
Kathy has a heck of a lead – it might be a race for second!
First: Jon will be hosting a bonus game on the 22nd of July. The rules, buy-ins, and structure is the same as ours. You can respond to me to to Jon directly to get your spot!
We had 13 players for July’s game. I had the very strange experience of being late to my own game! Thanks to all who helped run the game (esp. Jon). It turned out to be Ladies’ Night. All three of the women playing made it to the top 4. With Lori taking 4th place for the bonus points.
Ed took third for his first cash of the year. That left Barb and Sophie heads-up for the win. The stacks were fairly even and they played quite a few hands. Sophie had to settle for another 2nd place as Barb picked up her first win for the year!
Kathy held on to her top spot despite not playing. Here’s the top five:
Sophie caught up a little, but with almost 100 points between her and second place, Kathy is the one to beat!
Already looking forward to Jon’s game on the 22nd and our game on the 5th!
Note the change. We will be playing to second Saturday of July. This is so everyone can enjoy their 4th of July.
14 players attended June's live game. The game went a little long (ended at 11:30) with a lot of play at the end.
When the dust settled, Jim walked away with the bonus points. Kathy continued her winning streak (5 cashes out of 6 games) with a third place finish. Bob improved from his usual 4th place by taking 2nd and Jerry got his first win of the year.
Here’s the top five:
Kathy's lead continues to grow to 140 points. It might be a battle for second place this year.
Happy 4th of July and see you on the 8th!
Saturday's live game was a lot of fun, despite only having 12 players. Bob took 4th place again (third time in a row). David K took 3rd place, that left Kathy and Sophie to battle it out for first. It wasn't really a fair fight as Kathy had significantly more chips that Sophie and that was enough to give her the win.
Here’s the top five:
Kathy's first place finish extends her overall lead to more than 100 points. It's still early, but she's setting the bar high.
See you on the 3rd!
April’s game had 16 players. Once again Bob took 4th and had to settle for the bonus points. Zahit finished 3rd for his second cash of the year. This puts him into 2nd place overall. Kathy finished 2nd for the trifecta (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and the overall lead. But it was Jon taking first place with his first cash of the year. Good game all!
Here’s the top five:
Can Kathy take back-to-back championships? Stay tuned!
First – we only have 5 players for the deep-stack poker game on the 18th. This game should be very similar to the ones played at Cherokee, so if you’ve ever been interested, this is the game for you. But we need more players. Jerry, Kathy, ED, Bob, and Jon have signed up. We need at least 2 more!
Saturday’s live game seemed to be a full house night (despite only having 13 players). We had full-house over flush and full-house over full-house. Needless to say there were big winners and big losers. Bob held on to take a 4th place to give him some bonus points. Kathy took third and that was enough to give her the overall lead for the year. It was Marv and Sophie battling for the win. Marv played well, but it was Sophie’s night. She took the win for her first points of the year.
That leaves the leaderboard looking like this:
It’s a good start to the year!
I was running late this month, but the game started on time (with a little help from my friends – thanks).
16 players battled again and as the night went on we saw a straight flush and at least one set of quads.
Pam and Ben went out in the same hand. Ben had more chips so he took third and Pam had to settle for the bonus points. That left Zahit heads-up with Chris. Chris started out with the lead, but Zahit was persistence and managed to hit a couple of hands right when he needed to and took the win. Congratulations Zahit!
With a new set of winners this month, there are a lot of ties in the top 5:
It’ll be interesting to see what happens next month! Another set of winners?
There were 16 players for the January live game.
We started a little late, due to explaining the new rules and awarding the trophies. The new blind levels may have made it last a little longer, but it still ended by 11:40.
Marv got the bonus points for 4th place. Jim made a late re-buy count (again) to take third. That left Kathy and David R fighting for first place. Kathy picked up where she left off, taking first place and keeping the bonus bucks as well.
Here’s the top five:
As always, let me know if you can make it on the 4th!
